Other infrared applications

There are many other applications for infrared thermography.  IBD is expanding services in this area.  If the services you need are not listed on this web site, please use the form to the right or email info@ibdlc.com for assistance.

Benefits of Infrared

Assure Quality
The wall is up and the roof is down, so how do you know everything went together as planned?  Many details can be confirmed by using thermography.  Structural details, location of insulation, airtight seals, insulated glass, moisture intrusion are a few of the items that may be viewable to a qualified thermographer.

Reduce Operating Costs
"The secret to the lowest operating cost is finding the minor repair."  In order to find the minor repair, you have to look for it before it otherwise becomes a noticeable problem. IBD uses infrared and other technologies to find the minor repair, while it is still minor and inexpensive to remedy.

Increase Efficiency
Locate and define the problem areas faster using infrared and provide more benefit to your company (or your customers) at less cost.  Repair and/or restoration scopes can be more precise.

Advantages of Infrared

Infrared is non-contact and non-destructive.
Some test cuts may be necessary to verify the results of an inspection, but large amounts of surface can be surveyed without damage to the good areas to locate the bad areas.

Infrared is Fast and Effective
Compared to visual inspection, infrared is fast and cost-effective. A good example would be a roof survey.  An experienced roof technician can cover a few feet wide in a visual inspection.  An experienced thermographer can cover forty feet wide or more in a single pass.

Infrared is Real-time and Subjective
Infrared is black and white.  Not in terms of color, but in terms of results. Areas of a target can be compared in real time and the patterns analyzed. A proper infrared inspection of a viewable target performed by a qualified thermographer gives usable results immediately if necessary.
